Lee Arnold & DeMorris McMillan – The Pantry/Kangaroo Express
Lee “hope she don’t step on your toes” Arnold is a member of the Talent Acquisition team at Kangaroo Express. Although Lee has had no formal dance training she has been known to bust a move or two. “I had such a good time competing in the event last year; I jumped at the chance to do it again. Since I scout talent for my company, I decided to scout talent within my company to groove with me this time. As a resident of Sanford and a mother of a rising 10th grader, Lee County Schools are near and dear to me. Nothing is more important than the potential of our children.”
DeMorris is known for making it do what it do. DeMorris is the Corporate HR Director at Kangaroo Express. DeMorris’s number one goal is to ensure all 14,000 plus employees are smooth on their feet. DeMorris has been known to bring employees to their feet with his own personal moves. DeMorris is a resident of Holly Springs NC, and is a strong believer in education. DeMorris enjoys charity work, and giving back to kids.
Carl & Wendy Bryan
Wendy Welch Bryan is a former UNC Dance Team member (The High Kicking Heels) and has been dancing “forever” as a former Dancer’s Workshop dancer and as a cheerleader in her junior high and high school years. She currently works at the O’Neal School teaching 9th and 10th grade English and Yearbook.
Carl Bryan is the current Dean of Student Learning at Central Carolina Community College. Best known as ”Coach B.”, Carl enjoys working with various Lee and Moore county recreation programs ranging from soccer, football, basketball and baseball.
Carl and Wendy have two children – Pait, 12 years old, and Carrie Ellen – 5 years old. Both are UNC graduates and they wanted to dance together for the first time competitively to polish some moves they left on the dance floor in Chapel Hill years ago!
David Clay & Suzanne Mills
David was born in Dayton, Ohio and was raised in various locales as the product of a military family. He attended Wichita State University where he received bachelor’s and master’s degree. Upon graduation he started career in health care as a registered respiratory therapist. He has worked in health care for over 27 years. David is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Central Carolina Hospital. David is married and has three children and three grandchildren.
Suzanne Mills resides in Sanford with her husband, Frank, and two children Jonathan and Farren. She has actively taught dance for twenty-seven years and is currently teaching at the Dancer’s Workshop. She has also worked for Lee County Schools for the past nine years as an instructional assistant. She is excited to be part of the cast of Dancing with the Stars this year. Working with children and doing something that you know will help ensure the best future for our children is a rewarding experience.
Ed & Emily Page
- Ed and Emily Page met and fell in love while attending UNC-Chapel Hill. They have been married for 13 years and have two daughters, nine year-old Hailey and six year-old Leah. Ed Page is the founder of Page Law Office, PLLC and a former Assistant District Attorney for Lee County. He recently ended his term on the Historic Preservation Commission. Ed is an alumnus of the Raleigh Junior Cotillion Club. Emily is the Director of Easter Seals UCP Stepping Stones Children’s Center, a 5 star inclusive child development center and is an Independent Senior Director with Thirty-One Gifts. Emily has been a board member of the Lee County Partnership for Children and the Coalition for Families as well as a member of the Lee County Parks and Recreation Commission.
Cliff Marion & Jennifer Marano
Cliff Manion is the Wellness Director for the Lee County YMCA. As a North Carolina transplant Cliff has made the most of the Lee County Community. However, Cliff’s maternal grandmother was born and raised here in Lee County and Graduated from the original Lee County High School. From running through Downtown and nights out at the Wine Bar he has adjusted well. His YMCA family has been a huge part of his acclamation to the community as well, from the members accepting him with open arms, to his fellow Y family showing him the ropes and sites to see in the Triangle area Cliff feels right at home. During his down time Cliff enjoys reading, tennis, and running. He would like to give a shout out to his family.
Betsy McNeill & Patrick Kelly
Patrick Kelly is a native of Broadway, NC. After graduating from Lee Senior in 2003, he attended Western Carolina University where he earned an undergraduate degree in political science and his masters degree in public administration. Patrick is a member of many local organizations such as the co-chair of the “Lights on Broadway” committee, president of the Broadway Lions Club, Friendship Masonic Lodge 763, Lee County Scottish Rite Club, Sanford Shrine Club, and also serves on the Lee County Juvenile Crime Prevention Board. Patrick is employed by the Lee County Sheriff Office, Central Carolina Community College, and Smith Funeral Home.
Betsy McNeill is a registered nurse and community educator at Community Home Care and Hospice in Lee County. She has been employed with Community for almost 8 years and has the world’s most fabulous coworkers. She is an ambassador with the Sanford Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Caregiver Advisory Board at the Enrichment Center, and a volunteer at the Helping Hands Clinic. She lives in Sanford with her gorgeous husband Daniel and their amazingly energetic son Colton. In her spare time she loves to read, travel, and of course -tear up a dance floor.
Brian Smith & Kerri Martin
Mrs. Kerri Martin is a former East Carolina Dance Team member and NC State cheerleader. She received her dance training starting at the age of 3 at Mrs. Morgan’s Dance Studio, then at Kelly’s School of Dance in Sanford and continued in classes at East Carolina University. She also enjoyed cheering at West Lee Junior High School and Lee County Senior High School. Mrs. Martin taught third grade for many years, and is now employed by the Lee County School System as a tutor in Math. When not watching her Pirates play, Kerri enjoys volunteering for Backpack Pals and being an active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. She and her husband Chris have been married for almost 12 years. She has two children: Kate, 8, and Jack, 4.
Dr. Brian Smith was born and raised in Sanford, North Carolina. A graduate of Lee County Senior High School, Wake Forest University, and the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, he returned to Sanford in 2005 to join his father in orthodontic practice. His dancing prowess is well documented – he once took a social dance class at Wake Forest and passed! He is married to his high school sweetheart, Jan, and together they have three children; Ginny, Will, and Mary Thomas. When he is not working, he can be found on the soccer field with Will or enjoying the girls’ ballet recitals. Dr. Brian is an active supporter of Backpack Pals of Lee County (wearing a Duke shirt to prove it!), is on the board of the Sanford Area Soccer League, volunteers at Tramway and Greenwood Elementary Schools, and is a member of the Jonesboro Rotary Club.
Joy Still & Chris Emano
Joy is a Principal Project Manager and has worked at Pfizer for 13 years. She lives in Fayetteville with her husband and 2 children. She enjoys traveling, going to the beach, being with family, and has many years of dance experience. That is, experienced in watching her talented children perform as dancers for the the North Carolina State Ballet, Cape Fear Regional and Temple Theater. She’ll really count on her children to coach her for a great stage performance. She also hopes to make her family, friends, and colleagues proud and is looking forward to being part of a great fundraising event.
Chris Emano, the older and more attractive child of Joy Still, lives in Fayetteville where he works at D&S Textile Services, Inc. Although Chris has always considered himself an entertainer, he has recently found excitement and passion in “treading the boards”. He has graced the stage at Temple Theatre’s production of South Pacific and several Cape Fear Regional Theatre’s productions including Spelling Bee, White Christmas, and West Side Story. His mother has been his biggest supporter and is thrilled to be sharing the stage with her for a wonderful cause and fundraising event.
Dr. Catherine Evans & Rev. Thomas Smith
Dr. Catherine Evans is a retired dentist with 28 years experience in Lillington. Dr. Evans has a long list of professional and civic accomplishments in and around the Harnett County area. She has a passion for theatre and has performed in local productions and at the North Carolina Theatre in Raleigh. Catherine enjoys dancing, reading and taking care of her horses and dogs. She is currently a member of the CCCC Foundation Board and a part time staff member in the Dental Department at CCCC.
REV. DR. THOMAS E. SMITH, SR. is the pastor at First Calvary Baptist Church in Sanford. Rev. Smith holds degrees from UNC –CH, Shaw University Divinity School and Virginia Union School of Theology. A native of Wake County, he was ordained into the Gospel Ministry by Wake Baptist Association in 1983. He is involved with many things in the community, including serving on the Board of Directors for Communities In Schools of Lee County.
